The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (May 19, 2026) revised its previous notification concerning the appointment of Sonal Swaroop (IAS:2012:AGMUT) as Director of Census Operations/Director of Citizen Registration (Director level) for Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
As per the updated notification, the competent authority has sanctioned her appointment on an additional responsibility basis under the Central Staffing Scheme for a tenure of three years from the date of taking charge of the position or until subsequent instructions, whichever occurs earlier.
Previously, the appointment notification had cleared the assignment for three years under the Central Staffing Scheme but had not indicated that it was intended on an additional charge basis.
