Prateek Yadav, younger son of late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, passed away due to pulmonary thromboembolism, a medical condition in which blood circulation to the lungs is obstructed by a clot.
The final rites of Prateek Yadav, son of late Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, who died on Wednesday at the age of 38 owing to a cardio-respiratory complication, will be conducted today in Lucknow, his wife Aparna Yadav confirmed.
“It is with deep grief that we inform you that the funeral ceremonies of Shri Prateek Yadav ji, beloved son of the late former Chief Minister ‘Padma Vibhushan’ Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav ji and cherished by all of us, will take place tomorrow (Thursday) morning at 11:00 AM at Baikunth Dham (Bhainsakund),” Aparna wrote on Wednesday.
As per official medical reports, the post-mortem examination established that Prateek, 38, died because of cardiorespiratory failure triggered by a massive pulmonary thromboembolism, a disorder in which a major blood clot obstructs one or more arteries in the lungs.
Prateek was brought to Lucknow’s Civil Hospital around 6 am on Wednesday, where doctors pronounced him dead. Hospital authorities stated he exhibited no signs of life upon arrival, with no detectable pulse and fixed, dilated pupils. Only members of his domestic staff accompanied him to the hospital.
Sources stated that Prateek had been experiencing health issues for some time and was recently admitted to a private medical facility in Lucknow.
Earlier this year, Prateek and Aparna Yadav had openly spoken about tensions in their marriage before later declaring a reconciliation.
On January 19, Prateek shared a sequence of posts on Instagram alleging that Aparna had affected his relationships with family members and mentioned that he planned to pursue a divorce. In those posts, he referred to her as “self-centred” and “motivated by fame and influence”.
However, on January 28, he declared that the issue had been resolved mutually following discussions between the two. In a video uploaded on Instagram, Prateek stated that no dispute remained between them. He later shared another clip featuring Aparna with the caption: “Haters, go to hell.”
A few months earlier, Prateek had also uploaded photographs of the family vacationing together on social media. Aparna Yadav currently holds the position of vice-chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Women’s Commission and is affiliated with the BJP.
