Takhat Singh Ranawat (IFoS:2007:KN) has been designated as Private Secretary (PS) to HD Kumaraswamy, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel.
As per an order released by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (May 19, 2026), the competent authority has sanctioned his appointment in the Ministry of Heavy Industries with effect from the date he assumes charge of the position.
He will retain the post until November 24, 2026, i.e. for the remaining term of his five-year tenure as Private Secretary, or on a co-terminus basis with the Minister, or until he stops functioning as PS to the Minister, or until subsequent orders, whichever occurs earlier.
Before this appointment, Ranawat was serving as Private Secretary to HD Kumaraswamy in the Ministry of Steel. He has been functioning as PS to Kumaraswamy since June 2024.
Importantly, Ranawat came on central deputation when he was designated as Private Secretary to Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, on November 24, 2021, for a tenure of five years.
